Elder Jerome Johnson, Youth Pastor

Elder Jerome Johnson is filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost and has lived a sanctified and holy life for 36 years. He has been married for 32 years to Evangelist Judy Johnson, his spiritual partner in ministry. They are blessed to be the parents of five children, Toshika, Jerome, Torinthian, Lashonda and Corvez and double-blessed as grandparents to twelve grandchildren.

Elder Johnson currently serves as the Youth Pastor of Christ Temple Apostolic Church in Chicago. He has been actively involved in youth and children ministry for 30 years. This role includes preaching, teaching, mentoring, counseling and intercession prayer. He is known as a “worshipper” and integrates music throughout his ministry. In addition, he was a trailblazer in the use of technology in church demonstrated in his youth bible classes, workshops and seminars.

He preached on the streets of Chicago throughout urban communities for the first 10 years of his preaching ministry. He has been a part of the Cook County jail ministry for over twelve years and coordinates jail ministry volunteers. He served as Youth Church Instructor for the P.C.A.F. Illinois State Council for 13 years and Youth Church Instructor for the P.C.A.F. National Organization for 11 years. His love for children is demonstrated in his volunteer work at local orphanages and fundraising for children globally.

Under his tenure, he has been blessed to influence the lives of numerous young men and women who are in the Kingdom of God today as teachers, preachers, and musicians for the Glory of God. Elder Johnson believes in team ministry and as an administrator is known as a visionary who equips his team with the spiritual and physical tools needed for the given assignment.

He has a sincere love for education and sees education as an on-going process and evolution of knowledge. He has been both a student and teacher at Midwest Apostolic Bible College (now known as, D.R. Bell Bible College). He has certificates in Biblical hermeneutics, Christian Psychology, Church History, Systematical Theology, and Personal Evangelism. He is also a certified mentor for Lincoln Academy for Youth Counseling. Elder Johnson attended Wendell Phillips Academy High School in Chicago and still has a heart for inner city youth.
